How to healthy "happy hour"!

Y'all, it is totally possible to have your cake and eat it too!

AKA have a social life and be healthy!

Your social life does NOT have to work against your health goals... 

It’s all about making intentional choices about what YOU want and what will make YOU feel best... As compared to making decisions out of fear, social pressure, comparison or emotion.

1. Decide beforehand what you’ll order and how many drinks you’ll have⁣!

This will help you make productive decisions and avoid temptation. 

2. Be preemptive about eating well and hydrating⁣!

Happy hours tend to be higher in carbs, so have more healthy fats, protein, and carbs with more fiber leading up to your happy hour. And drink water like it's your job! 

3. Don’t sweat the drink choice too much!⁣

If you’ll be having multiple drinks, picking a low calorie, low sugar option may make you feel better. But you don’t always have to pick the “Skinny Marg” or the vodka soda... Pick the drink you’ll ENJOY AND SAVOR!⁣

4. Get back to your normal routine the next day!

One day of drinking doesn’t ruin your progress... It’s an entire weekend of over-indulging, followed by feelings of guilt and shame, that can really derail you. 

5. Be present with the people you’re with!⁣

Try not to fixate on what you're eating and drinking. Just soak up all the mental and emotional health benefits of healthy social connections!⁣
